Associate Environmental Engineer – 2 to 5 years experience in the site assessment,
investigation, and remediation of hazardous waste sites. Candidates should have skills
in developing plans and reports for site investigation and cleanup activities. The
successful candidate will possess the following:
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering or closely related field
- Knowledge of basic site characterization methods and techniques
- Knowledge of cleanup technologies and remediation techniques for soil and water
- Experience collecting, analyzing, and managing environmental data
- Experience evaluating engineering alternatives, preparing reports, and interacting
with clients, contractors, and agencies
- Strong verbal, written, and computer skills
- Desire to obtain professional license
- Current 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
- Desire to learn and grow capabilities into other disciplines
The Associate Environmental Engineer is expected to complete the following types of
tasks under the direct supervision of a registered engineer:
- Prepare work plans, sampling plans, site investigation reports, feasibility studies,
designs, specifications, and engineering reports
- Review and manage analytical data and make recommendations
- Develop and monitor project scope, schedule, and budget
- Research engineering solutions, regulations, and other information needed to
resolve technical issues
- Coordinate, execute, and oversee field activities such as environmental sampling,
boring completion, and well installation
- Communicate with client, agencies, and contractors as required
